As a species we do really stupid and nasty things to each other and to the world around us.
I sometime despair at the crap that we do.
But amongst it all there are a few gems, people who make it all worthwhile, and as picky as I am, I'm lucky enough to know some of them and count them as real friends.
Nigel was one of them.
I've known him since 1978, and he was there at some of the pivotal moments of my life. His presence and personality being a part of many good memories, of where I'm from and who I am.
I wish you could have met him, you'd be the better for it.
He was there in the beginning, and he should be here now.
