As a kid from a small town aged 16-17, with nothing but prospects of a dead-end job I remember seeing his movies for the first time being struck by the possibilities.
They were amongst a few examples of things that showed that there were other crazy people out there doing their thing and that there was more out there and they helped influence and inspire me to get out there and do something myself.
Last year Trace and myself went to see this fun lecture of his on Crowley at Hammer here in LA.
Afterwards, in one of those surreal moments life throws you from time to time, we had dinner with him for which he insisted on paying.
He's quite a character and has many great anecdotes and I had quite a kick from the experience plus an anecdote of my own.
